Fall

In the Fall, students returned to schools, and KEYS returned to classrooms across Bridgeport! We restarted our Saturday ensemble programs of orchestra, band and chorus. We restarted programs, and expanded programs in schools where principals were eager to provide this enrichment opportunity for their students. Our partner schools deeply value what KEYS provides and recognize the importance of a music education.

While in-school lessons remain our primary teaching model and the best way to start beginner students, we’ve learned that virtual teaching allows students to continue lessons despite busy schedules and transportation challenges, which are all too prevalent in Bridgeport. In fact, 30% of our teaching continues to be virtual as we’ve learned that students can make great musical progress in virtual lessons, with fewer barriers and greater continuity of lessons.
